Embedded and Pervasive Computing Center (EPCC) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is established in September 2006.
The key strategy that will be pursued is to significantly expand the research and development capabilities in SJTU and focuses on fundamental areas of pervasive computing and embedded systems. Specific topics in embedded system and Pervasive Computing include:
* Compiler optimization
* Multiprocessor
* Multi-core
* Smart campus
* Context-awareness
* Information appliances
* Software infrastructure for pervasive computing
As an interdisciplinary, EPCC involves dozens of faculty, engineers, graduate student researchers and undergraduate students from multiple disciplines such as mathematics, electronics and electrical engineering, computer science and signal process. Several research institutes and companies have also been actively involved in EPCC projects, including Hong Kong University of Science And Technology and Zhe Jiang University.
In the past half years, EPCC has yielded the following results:
* We have coordinated more than 3 integrated research projects of ubiquitous computing and compiler infrastructure which have been funded by National Science Foundation.
* We have initiated several industry-academia joint projects on wireless network, context-awareness, and compiler optimization.
* We have launched transfer program with Aizu University of Japan
